Thank you Susan and Monica for a great meeting this month! Next month we are meeting at Rachel's and will be making these bags. Look in your email for a list of supplies and directions.
YO-YO Challenge
Last month Susan challenged all of us to make something with a square of yoyo's she gave to us. Here are the results:
Diane made this pincushion/supply holder using the yo-yo's
Monica attached the yo-yo's to this doily and then framed it.
Susan made this sewing kit using yo-yo's on the front cover
Inside the sewing kit
Kathi made this tablerunner
Corrie gave us a good laugh as she demonstrated how easy it was to make a candle holder by not having to sew or cut anything from the original block
Susan also made this cute banner using the yo-yo's, cinnamon sticks and old wooden spools
Show and Tell
Diane made this baby boy quilt from an online picture she saw. She used gauze on the back. She purchased the gauze from Quiltique
Corrie made this house quilt for a friend and even put her friend's address on the bottom of the quilt. She used Moda's Crossweave fabric as the background.
Robyn made this flannel plaid quilt.
Robyn also made this blue flannel strip quilt and used it to experiment quilting designs with her new Innova Longarm!
Corrie made a bag for all the cute McDonald's kid meal toys
This is a bag corrie bought that showcases the cute Riley Blake fabric
Rachel made backpacks like these for each girl that will be attending her girl's camp this summer. Their theme is "The Amazing Race, be a soul survivor"
Rachel also made this dresden Christmas quilt
Back of dresden quilt
Rachel also made this by cutting dresdens into 8 1/2" squares. Rachel shared with us that when she is attaching a binding, she uses a fabric like moleskin to protect her fingers from needle pricks.
Corrie brought Riley Blake's newest line Goldilocks. So cute!
Tutorial for this Big Star Quilt can be found at MissouriStar Quilting
Rachel also brought these bags that we will be making next month
Cindy made these diaper covers for a humanitarian project
These harem baby pants were also made by Cindy
Nancy used her extra triangles to make this pillow
Lynette made this crocheted set of pants and hat
These are the harem pants that Lynette made
Nancy made this batik quilt and made sure to wash the fabric first using color catchers
Lynette and Cindy made these cute little bird pincushions and used crushed walnut shells inside

This is a larger bird Lynette made to use as a door stopper.
